Post 4 Setting

The main setting of this myth with me, Loki and Thor "The Lay of Thrym" is mainly in the land called Jotuenheim which is the land of the giants. It also takes place in Asgard the land of the gods where I reside. The setting in Jotuenheim where Thrym resides is bitterly cold because Thrym is the giant of frost. This land is a mass amount of pure ice stetching for miles and miles like a cold and dark icy abyss. When Loki first goes there he sees the giant mound of ice that Thrym sits upon in his realm. The place where Thrym resides is layered in many layers of ice formations in order to create his massively huge home because of his large size. In Asgard there is an immense amount of tension in the air that we could all clearly feel. For we felt the fear of what would happen if we did not get Thor's hammer back from Thrym, because his hammer is his strength and it ensures the protection of Asgard. There was also anger in Asgard at the fact that this had happened. Meanwhile in Jotuenheim Thor and Loki could feel that Thrym was questioning whether it was me or not because he felt as if there was something off about me because I was not acting like a woman should because in reality Thrym was deceived into believing that it was me when it was really Thor dressed like me.

Thor is dressed like me while Loki is dressed as a bridesmaid.

  1. You described the setting very well! It is great that you were able to find pictures of the locations you describes, it really helped to visualize the setting. Great job!
